TariffTariffs denote rate plans for electricity. Tariffs outline electricity charges, as well to to whom these plans apply to. For example, tariffs can be residential, or general (including commercial, industrial, and specialty) .
Load Serving Entity LSE is a synonym for an electric company. Using the term LSE, instead of electric company, is made necessary by the fact that there are a number of different types of electric companies. Some LSEs distribute electriicty, others deliver it to customers' homes. LSEs have a territory they operate in. Some might operate in more than one territory. LSEs also have Tariffs (rate plans).
TerritoryTariffs denote areas of coverage (for tariffs or Load Serving Entities). Areas of coverage could include: Zip code, CIty, County, and State.
Season Season refers to periods in a year, characterized by differences in electricity prices. For most LSEs, there are two such periods: Winter and Summer.
Time of Use Denotes the time of the day, usually On Peak, and Off Peak. These periods are characterized by different prices.
Properties Properties are a metadata associated with Tariffs. They can be used to determined rates for specific conditions. For example, if the property CityLimits is specified, then rate information will be returned that is limited to rates inside a city.
