This bundle incudes functionality for executing individual SQL commands and performing bulk database operations for MySQL.
Note: these instructions apply to RDS instances created within the EC2-Classic environment only. These instructions will be updated soon to include setup instructions for use with EC2-VPC, but in the meantime, you can check out Amazon's instructions on working with RDS in VPC.
To use the Choreos in this bundle, you'll need the following information about your database:
The name or IP address of the database server
The database name
The database username
The database password
There are two security setting configuration options that will allow Temboo to connect to an Amazon RDS instance or a database hosted on Amazon EC2:
1. Recommended. Open your EC2 server to Temboo by authorizing access to a Temboo EC2 Security group using the following:
EC2 Security Group Name: Temboo Access
EC2 Security Group Owner ID: 114370834540
For example, here's a command that will perform this action and open access to TCP port 3306 in your security group from Temboo:
Note: to use this approach, your RDS instance must be in the us-east region.
2. Authorize access from the public IP ranges of the Amazon US East region. This approach is less secure, but may be helpful if your RDS instance is not in the us-east region or you do not have a database on Amazon.
