At Temboo, we build software tools and applications that people are using to fundamentally change the world around us. Temboo is empowering people to build an amazingly diverse range of physical computing systems at the intersection of hardware, software and human aspiration, and we want you to help us as we grow and scale Temboo. A few highlights:

  • Temboo software comes pre-shipped in hardware development platforms for millions of devices from companies like Texas Instruments, Samsung, Arduino, and more to come.
  • Our customers have implemented a wide range of IoT applications across different industries, from wearables-based medical research and aviation component maintenance, to industrial baked goods manufacturing, and even octopus farming!
  • Temboo integrates with over 100 internal and external APIs and cloud services, and we work closely with API providers such as Amazon and Microsoft to make their APIs more accessible.
  • Engineers, plant managers, and others who manage physical assets like facilities, equipment, and labs have upskilled themselves with Temboo, using our tools to build their own Internet-connected sensor and hardware applications for their jobs and in the process learning IoT development skills without going through formal training or education.
  • Temboo has been adopted as a teaching tool by over 150 universities worldwide, in courses ranging from traditional CS and engineering to digital art and urban data mining, and is a New York State approved provider of IoT instruction for professional licensed engineers.

We’re looking for a talented Product Manager to join our team and help build software tools that are changing how the world works. You’ll work across all areas of the product and company to ensure that our team is building the right product, in the optimal way, as we continue to innovate at the intersection of hardware and software.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Diving into the details to help design emerging technologies that people use to improve the world we live in
  • Taking abstract, sometimes technical product ideas and turning them into intuitive, powerful features for our customers
  • Defining features by researching problems, writing specs, and visually presenting your solutions
  • Clearly communicating product functionality, and iteratively incorporating feedback to continuously improve your process and work
  • Contributing to the creation of product roadmaps, and managing a backlog of product features
  • Helping to manage the product development workflow by making sure that your design and engineering colleagues have what they need to keep moving
  • Collaborating with colleagues throughout the company, and learning from customers, partners, and the market, to make sure that we’re building the right product at the right pace
  • Contributing to the culture of a small, fun, eclectic team

What We're Looking For In You

  • You have a passion for building products that empower others to create
  • You have significant product management experience (ideally 5+ years) in building software that people love
  • You have a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship products that you’ve managed
  • You write specs and build wireframes that make life better for your engineering and design colleagues
  • You’re a systems thinker and can distill complex workflows into powerful yet easy to use features
  • You have a strong sense of product aesthetic, an appreciation for how design contributes to customer success, and hands-on experience with visual design tools.
  • You have proven experience with balancing user and business needs
  • You have a demonstrated interest in machine learning and/or IoT
  • You have an ability to grow and take on new responsibilities with enthusiasm in a fast, changing environment
  • Computer science, mechanical engineering, or other technical degree strongly preferred
  • Bonus points for experience with Arduino and other programmable hardware platforms, an interest in programming and emerging technologies, visual and interaction design skills, and a quick sense of humor; we also need a bass player, so let us know if you can jam!

Why You Should Apply

  • You’ll have a high-impact role working with transformative, cutting-edge technologies like IoT and Machine Learning
  • You’ll be part of a committed, smart, respectful, and fun team
  • You’ll be building human-centered tools and products that enable people and businesses to make a positive impact on the world
  • You’ll get wide-ranging exposure to different aspects of the technology and business worlds since Temboo touches hardware & software, multiple layers of the technology stack, and a variety of industries
  • We offer competitive compensation, a casual office environment, and respect for autonomy
  • Our users are our customers, and they control their own data. We're not selling ads or user data.
