Do you want to put an IoT spin on Thanksgiving dinner? Trey German, the resident hardware hacker at Texas Instruments, did. He built an awesome sous vide turkey cooker using Temboo’s Twilio Choreos and a TI MSP430 LaunchPad: the LaunchPad controls the temperature in the cooker, and can itself be controlled remotely via SMS. As the turkey cooks, the LaunchPad sends Trey SMS updates on its progress, allowing him to respond to adjust the cooking time or temperature. This IoT application is a great way to kill (cook?) two birds with one stone: it will let you prepare a perfect turkey dinner, and give you more time to spend with family and friends on the holiday.
